PSCC MEMBERS GALLERY – DEREK DIXON
I have been taking photographs since I was 14 and started with the original Ilford selochrome orthochromatic film, dish processed in ID 11 film developer, under a red safelight.
I designed and made my own enlarger which had a rack and pinion focusing system using the Wray 75 mm enlarging lense. Prints were processed in large trays using Kodak D163 print developer, stop bath and fixing solution. My favourite printing paper was Kodak Bromesko.
Although my main interest is in pictorial photography, I have always had a passion for infra red images. For many years I produced images using Kodak High Speed IR film, but now I use a digital Nikon D60 SLR converted for IR photography.
In 2001 I submitted a panel of prints (mostly IR images) to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and obtained a DPAGB.
I am a very active member of the Park Street Camera Club and support most of the competitions.
