PSCC MEMBERS GALLERY – MARTIN WISE
Photography has always had a fascination for me, from photographing the world as I see it, to the equipment itself. Not so much the technical side as the aesthetic. For many years I have collected photographic memorabilia especially anything associated with stereo photography. Unfortunately, lack of space today means I am now restricted to looking and not acquiring new objects.
However, the taking of photographs and socializing with like-minded folk still gives me a lot of pleasure and this is where the club plays a big part in my photography. I was a founder member of Pinner Camera Club and when I moved to Chiswell Green it was only natural that I seek out the local camera club. The knowledge gained from the talks we have and hearing the comments of visiting judges at our competitions has been of great help in improving my photography and giving it direction.
I will conclude this discourse by saying how fortunate we are to live in the digital age (photographic-wise that is). As one who used to swelter, developing black & white prints in the bathroom, I now love being able to click and save on my computer. The advances made in the equipment at our disposal though, does not alter the fact that it is still the man behind the camera that counts.
